Travel-restrictions lifted!

Travel Restrictions Lifted

The Norwegian colony in Singapore can finally celebrate that we have a Vaccinated Travel Lane (VTL) to Norway.

Ambassador H.E Eivind Homme and NBAS-President Leonard Stornes are happy that Singapore is expanding the VTL scheme to include Norway. They have remained steady in their advocacy and convinced that the good dialogue between Norway and Singapore would bear fruit.

And they were right. From 16 March 2022 travellers who have been in Norway or any country in the European Economic Area (EEA) for the last seven consecutive days prior to departure, can travel to Singapore on a VTL flight without quarantine.

‘The expansion comes as a great relief for Norwegian residents and companies in Singapore. They have for almost two years lived with strict entry requirements and difficulties in conducting business trips and family visits’, says ambassador H.E Homme.

‘It’s been a long wait and work with Team Norway, where we towards the authorities and decision makers in Singapore have presented the importance to ease the travel restrictions for our members’, comments NBAS’ President Leonard Stornes.

Going forward, the opening will make it easier for Norwegian business in Singapore to conduct meeting activities. Also, it will be easier to receive planned delegations. H.E Homme and Stornes also believes this will lead to even stronger bilateral cooperation between Singapore and Norway.
