NBAS, The Norwegian Embassy in Singapore, and Innovation Norway will jointly host Singapore Norway Innovation Conference (SNIC) 2022, supported by Enterprise Singapore (EnterpriseSG). The three parties will host the conference at hotel Conrad Centennial in Singapore on 18 November 2022.

SNIC 2022 is a call to accelerated action for maritime decarbonisation.

We focus on collaboration opportunities, innovation delivered, and innovation in the pipeline to decarbonise the maritime industry.

Fruitful cooperation

In 2020, Innovation Norway and EnterpriseSG signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to explore collaboration in maritime digitalisation and automation. The MOU also focuses on other marine technologies, sustainable urban solutions and clean technology, healthcare, biomedical sciences, food technology, and aquaculture.

Since the MOU was signed, Innovation Norway and EnterpriseSG have completed a series of information-sharing sessions for enterprises from both countries. These sessions have included mutual sharing of interests and initiatives in the aforementioned sectors.

EnterpriseSG has also actively supported Innovation Norway’s events, including the maritime and circular economy programs at the last edition of SNIC.

In 2021, Innovation Norway supported EnterpriseSG in a virtual market visit to Norway. The visit aimed to study the hydrogen value chain. Also, EnterpriseSG supported Innovation Norway in a series of virtual market entry programs for Norwegian healthcare companies. The agenda aimed to explore possible matches between the challenges Singapore had defined and Norwegian expertise within healthcare.

This year, EnterpriseSG and Innovation Norway collaborated on a business matchmaking session comprising 14 Singapore companies and 9 Norwegian companies within the maritime digitalisation and decarbonisation sector, where commercial discussions are now underway.

“Innovation and sustainability are key pillars driving enterprise growth. In April this year, EnterpriseSG welcomed the first physical business delegation from Norway since the pandemic to discuss opportunities in the Maritime sector in these two areas. We are glad to be a supporting partner of SNIC 2022 and hope that this can be a good platform for companies from both countries to continue our close engagement and work together on emerging opportunities,” states Deputy Chief Executive Officer of EnterpriseSG, Mr. Tan Soon Kim.

Spur innovations

‘We are grateful for the longstanding and fruitful cooperation with EnterpriseSG,’ says Innovation Norway director Paul Kastmann. “We warmly welcome the valuable support of EnterpriseSG for SNIC 2022, focusing on innovations within maritime & offshore decarbonisation and digitalisation. SNIC 2022 is a part of a close collaboration between EnterpriseSG and Innovation Norway, where we work to spur innovations across several sectors’ states the IN director.
