2. February – Meeting the Norwegian Parliament
The Standing Committee on Transport and Communications of the Norwegian Parliament is visiting Singapore from Monday, 30 January, to Thursday, 2 February. NBAS hosts an event at the Norwegian Seamans Mission to learn about the Parliament and the Committee’s work and showcase Norwegian companies in Singapore within the committee’s responsibilities. The committee’s responsibilities are matters relating to domestic transport; postal services; general issues relating to telecommunications and electronic communication; pleasure boats; and the responsibilities of the Norwegian National Coastal Administration.
4 February. New in Singapore
At the event, the Church will serve tacos true to tradition and organise presentations, a panel discussion, and an opportunity for mingling. The event is an excellent opportunity for new expats, accompanying partners, and students in Singapore to learn more about Singapore and the Norwegian and connect with others. We warmly welcome all newcomers in Singapore and invite them to take the opportunity to get to know us and get engaged with the NBAS!

14 February: Q1 Regional meeting
Regional meeting for the leaders of the Norwegian commercial chambers in Asia, including NorCham. The meeting focuses on updates from the Chambers, input from Innovation Norway and other regulatory bodies. The overarching theme for this year’s meetings is the Norwegian Asia Business Summit in Thailand from 22 to 25 November.

1 March Tech Circle – Artificial Intelligence
The event aims to bring together industry leaders, experts, and professionals from various sectors to discuss the impact of artificial intelligence (AI) on the business community in Singapore. The conference will cover a range of topics related to the implementation of AI in various industries and the opportunities and challenges that come with it.
7 March Maritime: IMO- regulations EEXI, EEDI & CII
NBAS is pleased to invite to this event focusing on the latest developments in IMO regulations. The event will focus on the Energy Efficiency Design Index (EEDI) for existing ships, the shortened Existing ship Energy Efficiency Index (EEXI), and other requirements maritime companies need to be compliant with as a tool to reach the IMO goals for greenhouse gas emissions.
The event will be held at the Techlab by Innovation Norway. It will bring together leading experts from the maritime industry, regulatory bodies, and technology providers to discuss the latest developments and best practices for meeting the new regulations.
The program will include keynote presentations, a panel discussion, and case studies highlighting the challenges and opportunities of implementing these regulations. Participants will learn about the technical aspects of EEXI and EEDI and how they can leverage technology and data analytics to improve energy efficiency, reduce emissions, and meet regulatory requirements. Additionally, attendees will have the opportunity to network with other industry professionals and learn about the latest solutions and services available to the industry.

29 March: Annual General Meeting
We wish our members welcome to Norwegian Business Association’s Annual General Meeting (AGM), where they will have the opportunity to review and discuss the Association’s Annual Report and financial statements for 2022 and budget and plan for 2024. Subscription fees for 2024 will also be addressed, and possible adjustments to the constitution and the Committee will be elected for the next term. Additionally, the AGM will appoint the auditor for the association. The AGM is exclusively for members of the Norwegian Business Association.

The event will bring together industry leaders from the banking, cargo, and ship owning sectors and other key players in the Norwegian and Singaporean maritime industries. This event will focus on the new requirements and initiatives to address the decarbonisation issue in the maritime sector, such as the Poseidon Principles for banks and the Sea Cargo Charter for cargo owners. Attendees will learn about the latest developments and best practices for addressing the environmental impact of the maritime industry and gain insight into the opportunities and challenges that lie ahead.

The “Changes in Singaporean Law: Consequences for Companies and Individuals” event will provide a comprehensive overview of the recent changes in Singaporean law and the consequences for companies and individuals who may breach them. The event will feature experts from various legal and compliance fields who will discuss the key updates to the law, including potential penalties and enforcement actions for non-compliance. SNIC 2023 – Innovate to Zero is a two-day conference on September 28th and 29th that will bring together industry leaders and experts to discuss the latest innovations in the maritime sector and other industries driving the transition to net zero carbon emissions. The conference will feature keynote speakers, panel discussions, and interactive sessions that will explore cutting-edge technologies, business models, and policies that enable the industry to achieve net zero emissions.

Welcome to the Norwegian Seafood Dinner 2023! We are thrilled to host this event in partnership with the Norwegian Embassy in Singapore and Innovation Norway.
