ABB Supports Inclusive Employment Through Cook and Serve Initiative
As part of ABB’s ongoing commitment to community engagement and social responsibility, the Singapore team partnered with Project Dignity, a local social enterprise dedicated to empowering persons with disabilities and supporting seniors through skills training, job placement, and inclusive employment opportunities.

The team participated in a hands-on “Cook and Serve” session, where members prepared, plated, and served meals to seniors while working alongside trainees undergoing culinary and service skills training. Beyond the activity itself, the session offered meaningful interactions with beneficiaries and deeper insight into the impact that inclusive employment initiatives bring to individuals and their families.
For ABB, this experience reinforced the importance of contributing to a more caring and inclusive society. It also provided a valuable opportunity for the team to bond through purposeful service, stepping outside the workplace to support a cause aligned with our values of respect, collaboration, and responsibility.
ABB looks forward to building on this partnership and continuing to support community organisations that create sustainable, dignified pathways for vulnerable groups. The team remains committed to participating in future volunteering activities that strengthen social inclusion and give back to the communities we serve.

Kongsberg: Protecting People and Planet Sustainability Program
True to our spirit of protecting people and planet, 50 participants from Kongsberg Singapore gathered on a sunny afternoon at Kallang Riverside for a meaningful day of environmental action on the water, picking floating litter while paddling a kayak along the river coastline.

Organized by the non-governmental and non-profit environmental organization Waterways Watch Society, participants were first introduced to the history of Singapore’s water supplies and the strategic importance of maintaining and protecting Singapore’s rivers and reservoirs. Coinciding with Singapore’s 60th National Day, it was a powerful reminder of how clean waterways is vital to the nation’s resilience.
Navigating the Kallang river coast lines in pairs on a tandem kayak, the team picked up a wide range of floating rubbish, the majority of which was disposable single use plastic items. Set in a backdrop of the National Stadium, it was a stark reminder of how urbanization affects the environment. With our maritime roots, it was a refreshing opportunity for our colleagues to spend some time outside of the office on the water, doing good for the environment while connecting, collaborating, and sharing laughs with each other.

TOMRA: Empowering Communities Through Knowledge
At TOMRA, we’re passionate about shaping a sustainable future. As Singapore gears up for the Beverage Container Return Scheme (BCRS), we’re aiming to raise awareness about circular economy principles.
At several Town Council events, residents had the chance to experience Reverse Vending technology firsthand and discover why clean loop recycling plays a vital role in reducing waste.
We also partnered with Singapore Airlines on their workplace recycling initiative (read more) and opened our doors to curious learners and passionate educators as part of the Ministry of Education’s Learning Journey Program.
Together, these initiatives aim to educate, inspire, and encourage active participation in building a greener, more circular future for Singapore.
Continuing Our Beach Cleanup Tradition
This September, TOMRA Singapore proudly carried forward our annual beach cleanup at East Coast Park. The initiative once again reminded us why our mission matters.

If so, give it a try – it’s a fun team bonding activity that combines
protecting the planet with a shared sense of achievement and purpose.
