The AGM will cover key governance matters for NBAS, including the Annual Report, financials and board elections. This will be followed by a business briefing on how current geopolitical developments in Asia are translating into real business risks and strategic considerations for companies operating in and from Singapore.
The event concludes with a networking lunch, offering a good opportunity to connect and reconnect across the NBAS community.

WHAT GEOPOLITICS MEANS FOR BUSINESS DECISIONS IN ASIA
Geopolitics is no longer a distant backdrop for business. For companies operating in and from Singapore, shifting power dynamics, economic fragmentation and regional uncertainty are increasingly influencing how risks are assessed and strategic decisions are made across Asia.
This NBAS business briefing, held in connection with the Association’s AGM, will focus on what has changed recently — and what that means in practice for companies active in the region. Combining strategic geopolitical perspectives with a business risk lens, the session will explore how global and regional developments are translating into real implications for boardrooms, management teams and operations across sectors.
The discussion is designed to be practical and relevant for senior leaders, addressing questions such as:

Ryu Yongwook, Assistant Professor at Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, NUS
Yongwook specializes in International Relations, with a focus on East Asia. His research interests include foreign policies of China, Japan, Korea and ASEAN as well as broad regional and global issues.
Angela Mancini, Partner and Head of the Geopolitical Risk Analysis practice for Asia Pacific at Control Risks
Based in Singapore, Angela leads a team advising governments and private organizations on how their strategies might be exposed to political, regulatory and reputational risks and developing strategies which allow them to operate successfully amidst geopolitical uncertainty.
Bjørn Simonsen, Science and Technology Counsellor for Innovation Norway at the Norwegian Embassy in Singapore
Bjørn has served in his current role since the second half of 2024. Prior to this, he spent more than 15 years in Norway’s hydrogen and clean‑tech sector, gaining an inside perspective across the full value chain—from research and industry associations to start‑ups, corporate management, business development, and investment.
